Dennis Dale Noel of Campbellsport, WI was called to his Heavenly Home on March 13, 2026 at the age of 82. Dennis was born on October 12, 1943 and lived in Steger, IL with his parents, the late Clarence and Doris (nee Fox) Noel. They moved to Crete, IL where he attended elementary school and graduated from Crete-Monee High School. He was drafted into the Army and spent 2 years as Physical Therapist Technician at Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, IN where he earned the rank of Spec-5. He was honorably discharged on April 21, 1967 and returned home to Crete, IL. After returning home, he worked for Seehausen’s grocery store as a meat-cutter for 17 years. He changed occupations and began working as a Local 150 Operating Engineer for Heckett Engineering where he retired after 24 years of employment.
Dennis married JoAnne (nee Hattendorf) 9/14/1968 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Matteson, IL. They were blessed with a son, Chris. After retiring from Heckett, Dennis and JoAnne moved to Campbellsport, WI where Dennis was able to enjoy 25 years of retirement. He enjoyed various hobbies including tennis, coaching little league baseball, private pilot, and golf. He was an avid outdoor enthusiast with his favorite hobbies which included registered trapshooting, fishing and waterfowl hunting. He was known for his great cooking skills in a duck blind. As an avid trap shooter he accumulated 115,675 registered targets and was very passionate about the sport, often traveling to Silver Dollar Gun Club in Odessa, FL where he spent the winter shooting.
Dennis felt very blessed to spend the last 38 years enjoying the family cabin in Fremont, WI on the Wolf River where they sat by many campfires after a great day on the water. He is best known for his gift of story-telling, of which he had many!
Dennis, aka “Pops” is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, JoAnne, son Chris and his wife Stephanie, and grandson Brian (special friend Shelby Falk), extended family and many good friends.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his siblings: Howard (Marjorie) and Ronald.
VISITATION: Dennis’s family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, (6430 Cty Rd. D, Allenton, WI 53002), from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Following visitation a Funeral Service will be held for Dennis at 3:00 p.m., at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, with Reverend Steven Bode officiating the service. Military Honors will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials donated to Zion Ev. Lutheran Church.
