Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, loving husband and friend, Dennis Joseph Bingen of Kewaskum, WI entered into eternal life on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Cornerstone Assisted Living at the age of 90. His guardian angels presented him to our beloved King, Jesus, to lay his weary head near His Sacred Heart forever in His mercy. In his final days, he was surrounded by family who helped him battle advancing age and its accompanying Parkinson’s.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Daniel (Chandel) Bingen, Timothy (Amy) Bingen, Deborah (Charles) Nevsimal; grandchildren: Matthew, Hannah (fiancé Shane Fultz), Abigail (Shawn) O'Keefe, Gavin, Braden, Gianna and Cassius; and great grandchild: Amora Bingen; step-grandchildren: Tyler Wendt, Cody Wendt and Calista Muraski; step-great grandchild: Kayden Wendt.
Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Suzie Bingen (Nielsen) of 59 years (just six months earlier), his sister Mary, brother Kenneth, parents, Clarence Bingen and Margaret Davoli.
Dennis was a “strong, brave soldier,“ as his granddaughter wanted to be sure he knew in his final days. Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and he attended the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight with his daughter in November of 2017. He was well-known for his years of dedicated service to the American Legion POST 384 in Kewaskum. Dennis touched many lives through selfless labors and would be found spending his retirement from the DMV serving our church in the way he knew best, taking care of the building and gardens. He served on parish council for many years, off and on, and took the angels garden “under his wing,” making sure Holy Trinity had the best groomed cemetery in town. He wanted to be buried watching the cars go by in his chosen spot on Main Street next to his wife and mother. Now his final rest is there, after his long life of giving, he will now be receiving in our Lord’s mercy.
His service went beyond church, it was to his country too. He served in the Korean war as a Morse code translator and in his local American Legion for many years. Our country was a part of his passions, from flying the American flag, to building his own float to honor our fallen in the Memorial day parade, he wanted others to know our Nation is blessed under God.
Lastly, his passion for gardening and houseplants kept him going when everything else seemed to be ending. He wanted to bring new life to every snip of flower he found, planting them where he willed.
