David John Mitchell, 79, of Milwaukee, passed away on July 3, 2025, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.
Born in Milwaukee on September 5, 1945, David entered the world as the cherished son of Ralph and Clarebelle (née Rosemeyer). On February 10, 1968, he pledged a lifetime of love to Nancy Ann Mueller, joining hands in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau.
David’s work ethic was unmatched. He began his journey behind the wheel as a truck driver, later shifting gears to join Motor Castings, where he served faithfully until 1985. Fueled by determination and entrepreneurial spirit, he launched M & M Salvage, carving out his own path as a self-employed recycler. Even in partial retirement, David stayed busy, never one to sit still for long.
His joys were simple but full of heart: a trip to the casino, getting lost in a word search or solitaire game, and savoring sweet moments with his favorite candies. He found happiness in the everyday, sharing stories with neighbors, laughter with friends, and love with family.
David leaves behind a legacy woven from hard work, warm conversations, and cherished company. His was a life filled with meaning, both in the big moments and the quiet ones.
Those David leaves behind to cherish his memory include three children, Matthew Mitchell (Yvonne), Lukas Mitchell, and his favorite daughter, Jennifer (Milton) Mueller; four grandchildren, Breanna (Jaydon) Wargin, Alex Mitchell, Logan Mueller (fiancé, Cassidy), and Kaden Mueller; a great-granddaughter, Leila Rey Wargin. Further survived by brothers, Marv, Dick, Tom, and Larry Mitchell; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, parents, and parents-in-law, David was preceded in death by his brothers, Roger, Michael, Paul, and William Mitchell; his sisters, Nadine Schahczinski, Louise Curler, and Rebecca Miller; and other relatives.
