Daniel "Lefthander" Lee Heinecke 81, of West Bend entered Eternal Life on Friday, May 15, 2026.
Dan was born November 18, 1944 to the late Edwin and Agnes (nee Pamperin) Heinecke and grew up in Allenton, WI. Dan graduated from West Bend High School in 1962. He honorably served in the United States Army National Guard. On February 25, 1977, he was united in marriage to Joanne Fuller (nee Reichert).
Dan worked his entire career at Weasler Engineering and was an active member of the union for many years. He had an avid love of sports: Softball, golfing, bowling and attended many Nascar and local racing events. He enjoyed snowmobiling with Tom and Laurie and his weekend getaways with his nephew, Mike. "Grandpa" also loved attending Alyssa's sporting events, especially softball. Rain, sleet or snow did not stop Grandpa from catching the next game. In his earlier years, he was secretary of his bowling leagues and was active in his snowmobile club, teaching snowmobile safety courses. Of course, he loved the Packers and Brewers.
Those Dan leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 49 years, Joanne, step-daughter Laurie (Tom) Hicken, granddaughter Alyssa (Jesse) Bellefeuil and great grandson Elijah. He is also survived by his sister Sharon (Richard) Indermuehle, brother Dennis (Marcia) Heinecke, nephew Mike Indermuehle, nieces Jennifer (Steve) Lehman and Leah (Alex) Meizoso. Also a very special uncle, Wally Kohler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson Joe Fuller (Julie).
Visitation: Dan's family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, May 29th, 2026 from 11:00 am - 12:15 pm at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (6430 Hwy D, Allenton, WI 53002)
A Memorial Service in remembrance of Dan will take place at 12:30 pm at Zion Church, where Dan was a lifelong member. Burial with military honors to follow. Lunch at Zion Church to follow the burial.
