Dale K. Squier, age 88, of Kewaskum, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at Kathy Hospice in West Bend.
Dale was born on February 27, 1937, in Marinette, Wisconsin, the son of Keith and Lydia (Sachs) Squier. He grew up in Marinette and graduated from Marinette High School in 1955.
Following high school, Dale proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corps with the First Battalion, Platoon 167.
In 1961, Dale married the former Joan Enderby of Marinette, beginning a loving partnership that spanned 64 years.
Dale pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, earning both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. He began his teaching career in Mount Morris, Michigan, before dedicating 34 years to teaching political science at Kewaskum Middle School. Among his many cherished memories as an educator, Dale especially enjoyed organizing a Civil War re-enactment with his students at Kiwanis Community Park - a reflection of his passion for history and hands-on learning.
Outside the classroom, Dale was an avid Civil War enthusiast who loved reading about the era, visiting battlefields, and sharing his knowledge with his children and grandchildren.
He also enjoyed golf, bowling, hiking, and traveling, continuing to golf and bowl well into his later years.
Family was central to Dale’s life, and he fondly planned and led annual camping trips across the country.
He also enjoyed playing cards and was particularly fond of poker and cribbage.
Dale was an active member of the Kewaskum Lions Club, where he coordinated the Kettle 20 Run for 25 years. He was also a member of two Marine division clubs, maintaining strong ties to his fellow Marines.
Dale is survived by his beloved wife, Joan; his daughter, Sheryl (Todd) Thormann; his son, Jeff (Julia) Squier; three grandchildren, Kaitlin (Mark) Carew, Collin Squier, and Sydney Squier; brother-in-law, John Foulks; and sister-in-law, Donna Enderby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Kay Foulks; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Martha Enderby; and three brothers-in-law, Albert (Nancy) Enderby, Ronald Enderby, and Harold Enderby.
