Dakota “Cody” Laedtke, 30, of Richfield, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly on October 23, 2026. Cody’s passing is a profound loss to all who knew and loved him.
At just 7 months old, Cody was a victim of Shaken Baby Syndrome. His life was marked by countless surgeries, paralysis affecting most of his body, and the mental awareness of a young child. Yet despite all he endured, Cody was the happiest young man you could know. He loved harder, cared deeper, and laughed more than anyone. His laughter was contagious. His heart was always happy and full of love. He brought joy to countless people, and everyone who met him loved him.
Cody loved his dogs, especially Dudley. Cody was a devoted sports fan. He loved the Packers, but the Brewers were his favorite team. He loved watching them and hoped they would win the World Series. He also loved monster truck rallies, NASCAR—especially Jeff Gordon—and playing Wii, particularly Mario Kart. Cody loved listening to music and sang loud and proud.
Cody is lovingly remembered by his parents, Katie and Mark Ingham; his siblings, Brandon and Tyler Ingham, Devean, Peytan and Kailyn Laedtke; his grandmothers, Linda Bird, Carol Bird, Carolyn Ingham, and Sandy (Gary) Felsing; his aunts and uncles, Melissa Arps, Theresa Bird, Becky Bird, Kristin (Thomas) Wachs, David (Audrey) Ingham, Resa (John) Werra, and Matthew (Heather) Laedtke; his very favorite “Uncle Dan” Arps; and his cousins, Kailyn and Nick Arps, Michael (Nicole) Wachs, Jessica (Adam) Albea, Haley and Isabella Ingham, John (Alyssa) Werra, Jessie Werra, and Noah and Grace Laedtke; as well as other relatives and friends.
Cody was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Kenneth Bird, Wayne Ingham, and Donald Laedtke and biological father, Tim Laedtke.
A special thank-you to all of Cody’s caregivers throughout his life including Bridges of Wisconsin, The Threshold, his care team with My Choice Wisconsin, his medical care team, his schools, and within his family. You each brought a special light into his heart. He remembered you and talked about you often. Special thanks to Anna Schnorenberg for her countless years of working with Cody, advocating fiercely for him, and loving him unconditionally. He loved you like a second mom.
