Charles M. “Charlie” Roemer, 89, of West Bend, passed away on January 14, 2026, at Evergreen Assisted Living in Oshkosh.
Charlie was born on September 12, 1936, in Rubicon, the son of the late Milton and Norma (nee Naffin) Roemer. On May 17, 1958, he was united in marriage to Arlene Papez at St. Johns Evangelical and Reformed Church in Hartford. Charlie and Arlene spent six years tending to their own farm before planting new roots in West Bend. There, Charlie joined Gehl Company while also committing himself to the West Bend Fire Department, rising to the rank of Lieutenant and earning his EMT certification. Even after retiring from Serigraph Inc., Charlie continued serving the community as a medical transport driver with Lifestar. A loyal Green Bay Packers enthusiast, he also had a soft spot for animals, especially schnauzers, which always seemed to win his heart.
Those Charlie leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Arlene; his daughter, Brenda (Brad) Cirricione; two grandsons, Nicholas (Amanda) Cirricione and Chandler (Rachel) Cirricione; two great-grandchildren, Callum and Emma Cirricione; a sister, Gail Roemer; a brother, Joel (Terri) Roemer; a sister-in-law, Marie Papez; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Ottmar and Marie Papez, and a brother-in-law, Tom Papez.
