Carlene Malinda Cardenas (Freitag), age 71 years, of Lomira was called home to be with the Lord on June 2, 2025, at 2:38 am. 

Carlene was born on November 11, 1953, in Beaver Dam, WI, to Lorenze & Vernice (Enderle) Freitag. Carlene married Felix Cardenas on November 16, 1969, at United Methodist Church in Mayville, WI.

Carlene grew up on a farm outside of Mayville and attended Kekoskee Elementary and Mayville Middle & High Schools. Throughout her life, Carlene worked multiple jobs at Metalcraft, Purity Cheese, and Walmart. But her biggest joy was running an in-home daycare in Mayville and Lomira, where she watched many children grow and become like family. She loved collecting recipes and trying new dishes, but her tried-and-true was always the best. Carlene enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens. 

Those Carlene leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Felix; sons, Richard and Jim, granddaughter, Alicia; and great-granddaughter, Nynaeve. Plus, her two cats Tiger and Snuggles. She is also survived by her sisters Mardell (Tom) Buckingham, Audrey Drake, and Lorraine (Chuck) Phelps. A sister in-law, Carol Freitag. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, 

Carlene was preceeded in death by a sister, Shirley (LaVerne) Kreuser, and a brother Carlton Freitag. 

VISITATION: Carlene's family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 5 pm until 7 pm at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service - 350 Main St. - Lomira, WI 53048. 

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service remembrance of Carlene will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 10 am at Trinity Methodist Church - 300 Church St - Lomira, WI 53048 with Rev. Mulongo Mpoyo officiating. Entombment will be at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park - N6250 Co Rd K - Fond du Lac, WI 54937.
