Obituary

Barbara Ann Tousey (nee McCullen), age 86 years, of West Bend was called home to be with the Lord on April 23, 2026, at Cornerstone Assisted Living in West Bend surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born on November 21, 1939, in North Fond du Lac to Edwin and Florence (nee Jewson) McCullen. She was a graduate of the Class of 1957, at St. Mary’s Springs in Fond du Lac. Barbara was united in marriage to Leo Eugene Tousey on May 20, 1961. Leo preceded her in death in 1997.

Barbara and Leo moved to West Bend in 1965, and made many lifelong friends. Barbara worked at the West Bend Company for 20+ years, retiring in 1999.

Barbara loved family, playing cards, listening to music, shopping, watching the Brewers and Packers, and going to grandchildrens’ activities. She was always busy! Barbara made friends wherever she went and made everyone feel special. When able, she went to daily Mass, volunteered at numerous places, walked everyday at WalMart, and helped out with her grandchildren (giving rides, babysitting, going to movies, sleepovers, etc.). Christmas at Grandma’s house was always special and her home was a gathering place for all occasions.

Barbara will be deeply missed by her four daughters, Jackie (Ron) Wilson, Ann (Craig) Walters, Kelly (Steve) Baetz, and Amy (Brian) Hubbard. Grandma will be missed by Paul (Abby) Wilson, Christopher (Cloe) Tousey, Corey (Theresa) Tousey, Tygh Walters, Sean (Samantha) Walters, Samantha (fiancée Justin) Walters, Cali Walters, Cody Baetz, Sydnie (Derek) Fink, Carsen Baetz, Seth Hubbard, and Henry Hubbard. GiGi will be missed by Alex and Micah Van Schyndel; Domini and Dorian Wilson; Coraline, Carmine, Cecilia, and Cebastian Tousey; Liberty and Emma Tousey; and Forrest Walters. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Marlena Bischoff, Jean Tousey, and Amy Tousey, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Barbara cherished her sister-in-law, Jane McCullen; and lifelong friend, Marolyn Kell.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Tousey; and son, Michael Tousey; three grandchildren, Jamie Tousey, Maggie Hubbard, and Katie Wilson Van Schyndel; brother, David McCullen; sister, Marilyn (Don) Huberty, brothers-in-law, Harry, Chuck, and Raymond Tousey; and many other relatives.

Barbara had many friends and acquaintances, but above all it was about family and including others. Mom instilled in us that if someone is alone or has no where to go for a holiday, we should invite them to our table. We will forever be grateful for the example she set in serving the Lord, loving family, volunteering in her community, and her sense of humor.

VISITATION: Barbara’s family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N 8th Avenue – West Bend, WI 53095).

SERVICE: A Mass of Christian Burial in remembrance of Barbara will take place at 12:00 Noon on Monday at Church with Father Russell Arnett officiating. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac at a later date.

We would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at Cornerstone Assisted Living for treating Mom like family, and the staff of Allay Hospice. We appreciate the loving care provided to her the past 9 months.
