Obituary

Anne L. Neja, 89, of West Bend, passed away on March 16, 2026, at her home with her family at her side.

Anne was born on July 20, 1936, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (nee Heiser) Poehlmann. On June 30, 1956, she was united in marriage to Robert Neja at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Milwaukee.

She enjoyed the simple things in life - especially time with family, rummage sales, and a good game of solitaire. Always so thoughtful and never missed a birthday or holiday without sending a card or making a call.

Strong, caring, faithful, funny, and humble are just a few traits that come to mind when I think of Grannie Annie. She had a way of making everyone feel loved - whether it be through food waiting for you upon your arrival, a thoughtful card, or simply being present in a moment with you. She was honest and truthful, even when it wasn’t easy to hear, and never one to complain for anything on a personal level.

She was someone people naturally enjoyed being around and there was always something to do - a card game to play, something to snack on, or just a sense of comfort in her presence to name a few.

Her legacy will be carried on by anyone that she touched in this lifetime. She is now with Gramps in heaven looking down and smiling on the life they created together. Their love was so powerful you could feel it just by being in the room.

Anne was very prayerful. She prayed for others and encouraged others to pray as well. She was such a loved woman and will be greatly missed but so well remembered.

Those Anne leaves behind to cherish her memory include four children, Bob (Karen) Neja of West Bend, WI, Steve (Linda) Neja of Belle Vista, AR, Pete Neja of Watertown, WI, and Beth (Rick) Roth of Stevens Point, WI; 10 grandchildren, Bill (Bridget) Neja, Andy Neja, Chris Neja, Kayla (Greer) Stamatis, Kelsie Neja, Luke Neja, Haley (Alex) Ransom, Allie (Kyle) Hopp, Megan (Alec) Tutton, and Joey (Courtney) Roth; thirteen great-grandchildren, Liam, Lorelei, April, Michael, Lexi, Leighton, Addison, Jude, Georgie, Cooper, Frankie, Teddy, and Millie; 44 nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Robert H. Neja, and parents, Anne was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
