Anna M. Bjerk (nee Phelps), 59, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 1, 2026, with her family by her side.
Anna was born on March 14, 1967 in Milwaukee to the late Richard and Andrea Phelps (nee Merkel). She attended school at St. Sebastians for grade school and graduated from Pius XI Highschool in 1985. She met Robert Bjerk at a mutual friend's birthday party, where they hit it off immediately. She was united in marriage to Robert on June 9, 1990 at St. Sebastian Church in Milwaukee. Anna was an avid Milwaukee Brewer and Green Bay Packer fan. For many years she worked alongside her very good friend Nancy Kaliebe, as well Nicki, Dave and many others down at Isaacs Parking. She had a sparkle in her eye that lit up any room she walked into. She was known for her baked goods and always had treat bags in hand. From bringing cookies to The Newburg Brewery, the dentist office, to her wonderful nurses at the Cancer Center & the Hospital. Baking was her talent and she loved to share that with everyone, and was looked forward to at every event she attended. She loved cross stitching & sewing. She made many cross stitch ornaments, bookmarks & tchotchkes for friends and family over the years. She loved playing billiards and was in pool leagues for many years. She loved spending time at her family cabin up in the northwoods, and was there multiple times a year for the last 59 years. It was a trip she later enjoyed sharing with her children and grandchildren. She had so much love for her faith, and Church which she was involved with in so many ways from lectoring at mass, being a member of the Christian Women group. She also loved helping out with the Fall Festival/Turkey Dinner, contributing the “Dessert of the month club”, running the church raffle for a number of years. Despite battling cancer for over two years, she always had a smile on her face, and her incredibly positive attitude inspired anyone she talked with.
Those left to cherish Anna’s memory include her husband, Robert Bjerk; children, Matthew Bjerk, Melanie Bjerk, Elijah Mabry; granddaughter Lily Mabry; her siblings, nieces, and nephews, Bill & Joanne Phelps, Nicki, Dave, Madeline & Jack Schlederer, Tony, Jenny, Kasey & Erin Phelps, Angela & Chris Baltz, Rory Kesselhan, Danny Niemann, Steve, Lisa, Cameron & Spencer Phelps; her Godparents Jack & Joan Groff, as well as many many dear friends.
