Allen B. Schoofs, 94, of Kewaskum, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Froedtert West Bend Hospital in the town of Polk.
Allen entered the world on December 3, 1930, in Washington County, born to Joseph and Catherine (nee Becker) Schoofs. On October 8, 1955, he married the love of his life, Paula Beisbier, at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Ashford. A proud veteran, Allen served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army before returning home to a life defined by hard work and dedication.
He began working early, as a home delivery milk man, going house to house at just 12 years old, and went on to farm until 1987. Over the years, he also drove school bus, honed his skills in woodworking, and spent 16 ½ years at the Gehl Company as an assembler. Later he devoted 19 years as a press operator at Gromax in Germantown. In his retirement, Allen and Paula enjoyed camping and spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was known to many people as “Apple Al”.
Allen was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.
Those Allen leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Paula; seven children, Thomas (Lori) Schoofs, James (Jennifer) Schoofs, Mary (Mark) Steinhardt, Richard (Mary) Schoofs, Judith (John) Ritger, Donna (Steven) Seefeldt, and Debra (Brian) Keller; 20 grandchildren, Amanda, Noah, Elisabeth, Katharine, Chad, Ben, Nick, Hope, Paige, Lauren, Tyler, Samantha, Kayla, Josh, Jocelyn, Jonelle, Jared, Adam, Bryana, and Jake; 29 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Schoofs; his grandson, Matthew Schoofs; his siblings, Ted Schoofs, Joseph Schoofs, Apollonia Retzer, Dick Schoofs, Francis Schoofs, Lucille Nigh, Catherine Vitrano, Anna Nigh, Ralph Schoofs, and Dorothy Volm.
VISITATION: Allen’s family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 331 Main Street, in Kewaskum, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
SERVICE: A Memorial Mass for Allen will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum on Saturday, November 29. Rev. Allan Weinert will officiate with military honors following Mass at church. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Kewaskum on Highway 28 West.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to Froedtert West Bend Hospital staff and the staff at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum.
