Town of Kewaskum

Allen E. Holtz, 83, of Kewaskum, passed away at his home on October 15, 2025.

Allen was born on April 24, 1942, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Howard and Ruth (née LaCroix) Holtz. On January 28, 1967, he married Georgianna M. “George” Kaminske at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Allen took great pride in his work as a plumber. Toward the end of his career, he even held two jobs to support his family. He had a deep love for the outdoors and frequently went hunting up north. He also enjoyed fishing—both in summer and through the ice in winter. In his younger years, he loved driving his Corvette.

Allen found joy in the simple routines of daily life, like reading the newspaper with his morning coffee. He had a special love for his dogs and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds from outside his window. A passionate gardener, Allen maintained raspberry patches and currant bushes, while Georgianna would freeze and can the produce they grew together. In the fall, he could often be found cutting wood, which they used to heat their home through the winter.

Resourceful and resilient, Allen showed remarkable dedication during an ice storm—staying up all night to keep the house warm after the power went out. He even used nature to his advantage, placing food between the windows and packing the freezer with icicles to preserve their perishables.

Those Allen leaves behind to cherish his memory include five children, Debbie (Peter) Krier, Sandy (Jeff) John, Chris Smith (fiancé, Randy Nissen), Jean (John) Janz, and Pat (Karen) Holtz; nine grandchildren, Kasey (Fred) Turnes, Nick (Ashley) John, Amberly (Tanner) St. Mary, Brent Smith, Alexia (David) DelPonte, Izabel Janz (Jack Bumgarner), Paytan Holtz (Brooke Schneider), Parker Holtz, and Sheri (Lee) Miller; eleven great-grandchildren, Leigha, Hailee, and Logan John, Finlee and Cru St. Mary, Florence DelPonte, Adeline and Grayson Holtz, Tristan Janke, Abby and Maya Meade; his close friend, Cheryl Forbes; his siblings, Howard Holtz and Jeri Perkins (Carl Buckner); his brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael (Chris) Kaminske, Kathy Kaminske, and Ken (Christie) Kaminske; a step mother, Elaine Kaminske; other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Allen was preceded in death by a grandson, Billy Janke IV.
