Alan G. Volkman, age 73, of West Bend, found peace on February 28, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Al was born on August 19, 1951, in Merrill to Alfred and Sally Volkman (Kunkel). He met Cynthia Kasat Douville in 1987, and the couple was united in marriage on April 30, 1999 in West Bend. 

Al graduated from Wautoma High School in 1970, where he was on the track team. He worked at True Fit Steel Rule Dies for 25 years. Al was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golfing and hunting turkey, deer, and bear. He also enjoyed photography and video editing (Papa Al Productions). Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Al conceived and hosted backyard events known as “Alympics” (an Annual Family and Friends Event) for over 20 years.

Those Al leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Cindy; four children, Kelli (fiancé Kevin Therrian) Douville, Kristopher (Stacey) Volkman, Jessica (fiancé Pat Warren) Volkman, and Michael Volkman; five grandchildren, Delaney Ragsdale, Kole Volkman, Hailey Ragsdale, Mason Volkman, and Kellen Therrian; and three siblings, Linda (Ron) Oleson, John Volkman, and Peggy Volkman. He is further survived by his brother-in-law, Donald Kasat, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Al was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Sally.

A private celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
