Robert F. “Bob” King, 84, of Lomira, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born on July 26, 1928, in Hill City, Minnesota, the son of the late Alfred and Alva (Sergeant) King, and on January 14, 1950, he was united in marriage to Violet Otto in Waukesha.
Bob was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lomira and served on the church council. He was an insurance agent for AAL for many years until retiring in 1992. Bob had a passion for hunting and fishing and always enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers and Badgers play. Above all else he had a great love for his family. Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.
Those Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Violet; five children, Karen Fochs of Fond du Lac, Jeff (Patty) King of Campbellsport, Laurie Stirmel of Brooksville, Florida, Lisa (Kay) King of Reedsburg and Jim (Gwen) King of Lomira; 11 grandchildren, Kristy (Greg) Bintzler, Kourtney Fochs, Kelly (Scott) Hodgden, Ben, Adam (Janelle) and Bill King, Stacey (Steve) Kane, Susie Stirmel, Aaron, Jordan and Caleb King; ten great-grandchildren, Malenka Bintzler, Aidan and Ethan Hodgden, Colin, Chase, Abram, Landon and Noah King, Kyle and Valerie Kane; a sister-in-law, Bev King of Merrill; his faithful dog and cat, Jake and Kitty Cat, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Fochs; two brothers, Bud (Mae) King and Al King, and a sister, Lorraine Paroubek.
Funeral services for Bob were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lomira. Rev. Dan Schmidt officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.
The King family greeted relatives and friends at the Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials in memory of Bob to St. John’s Building Fund are appreciated.
Bob’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to his niece, Cheri, for the help, love and support she has provided to the family.
