Lawrence J. “Larry” Weber, 72, a recent resident of All About Life Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac, a 12 year resident of Sterling House in Fond du Lac and a long time resident of the Village of Theresa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, after a lengthy illness.
He was born on July 31, 1940, in Fond du Lac, the son of the late Lawrence F. and Esther M. (Kayser) Weber.
For years during the 1960’s, 70’s and early 80’s, Larry was a fixture on the streets of Theresa doing odd jobs, errands, snow removal and yard work for many senior citizens, businesses and neighbors.
Larry’s hobbies included hunting with his family, fishing in the Rock River and vacations up north with his family, watching the Packers, playing Bingo at area senior centers and anywhere the game was being played. However, his first love was baseball, not only watching the Milwaukee Braves and then Brewers, but also playing the game with the youth of Theresa and watching their games at Firemen’s Park in Theresa as well as any vacant lot where the game could be played. His friends admired his love for the game that they nicknamed him “Hank” after the famed Hank Aaron of the Braves.
In later years, Larry resided at Alterra Sterling House in Fond du Lac, and as usual made many new friends with residents there, but mainly with the many caregivers there who would tend to his every need. The family thanks them gratefully for making Larry’s later years rewarding and fun. The family also wishes to thank the staff of caregivers at All About Life Rehab Center, especially those on the third floor for making his last days enjoyable. Thanks, too, to the staff of St. Agnes Hospital for their work with Larry on numerous occasions.
Larry was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa.
Those Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory include his brother, Mark (Debbie) Weber of Fond du Lac; his nephews, Richard (Bonnie) Pahl of Theresa, Daniel Pahl of Fond du Lac, Randal Pahl of San Diego, California, Jason Weber of Cedarburg and John (Alissa) Weber of Wauwatosa; his nieces, Renee (Norm) Petrie of Theresa, Deborah Pahl of Oshkosh and Jennifer (Matt) Flores of Golden, Colorado; his brother-in-law, Bill Pahl of Marshfield six great-nieces, six great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Pahl.
