Mary Beth Mecikalski, 73, of Jackson, formerly of Fort Wayne and Roanoke, IN, passed away at home on December 29, 2017. She was reunited in heaven with her husband and kindred spirit, Edmund Mecikalski.
Mary Beth was born on July 29, 1944, to the late Jerome and Martha Lauer in Fort Wayne, IN. Mary Beth was a proud member of the first graduating class of Bishop Luers High School in 1962 and a graduate of Mount Mary College in Milwaukee. She raised her children in Milwaukee then lived for 20 years in Roanoke, IN, before moving back to Wisconsin with her husband to be near family. Mary Beth was a gifted artist, passionate scrap booker, proud and devoted mother, doting grandmother, beloved friend, and kind, gentle soul.
Those Mary Beth leaves behind to cherish her memory include two children, Captain Amy Bauernschmidt (U.S. Navy) of Norfolk, VA, and a son Doug Bauernschmidt of Brooklyn Park, MN; their father, John Bauernschmidt of Wauwatosa; step-daughters, Pam (Brad) Hays and Paula (Dan) Brzezinski; grandchildren, Adrienne, Gabrielle, and Jackson Bauernschmidt, John Brzezinski, Liz and Nicholas Hays; a sister, Noreen (Robert) Fieber; brothers, Jerry (Susan) Lauer, Tom (Karen) Lauer, and John (Deanna) Lauer; brothers-in-law, Robert (Martine) Rankel and Eugene (Pam) Mecikalski; a sister-in-law, Virginia Mecikalski, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents Mary Beth was preceded in death by a sister Susan Rankel.
Private services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the Washington County Humane Society in Slinger, WI (where Mary Beth volunteered) or to a charity of your choice are appreciated.
