Laverne (Moldenhauer) Gruendeman

Laverne E. Gruendeman (nee Moldenhauer), 89, of Markesan found peace on Tuesdays, May 15, 2018 at the Markesan Resident Home.

She was born on August 28, 1928 to the late Elmer and Meta (nee Backhaus) Moldenhauer in New Fane, WI. She graduated from Kewaskum High School and later went on to cosmetology school in Milwaukee. On July 30, 1948 she was united in marriage to Dale Gruendeman at St. Lucas Ev. Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. Together they enjoyed building their retirement house over 20 years in Tomahawk. Laverne worked as a beautician all of her life even in retirement for the nursing homes in Tomahawk. She enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Those Laverne leaves behind to cherish her memory include her son, Gary (Georgene) Gruendeman; a granddaughter, Jasmine Gruendeman; five step grandchildren, Cindy (Bob) Riekens, Dee Ann (Chuck) Hanson, Lisa Hutter, Brian Hutter, and Laura (Scott) Spenner; a great-grandson, Lincoln; nine step great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Earl (Audrey) Gruendeman; a sister-in-law, Lila Bocher; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dale and a brother-in-law, Milton Bocher.

A funeral service in Laverne's remembrance will be held on Monday, May 21 at St. Lucas Ev. Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Boltonville Union Cemetery.
