James "Jim" Gumm Obituary

James G. “Jim” Gumm, 67, of Somerset, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at his home.

Jim was born on February 14, 1952, in Hartford, the son of Clarence and Hedwig (nee Bieri) Gumm. Jim graduated from U.W. Whitewater . He held leadership positions in Human Resources and Operations at Boston Store, Freeman Chemical, and Medalist.  Jim even started his own business, GHP Partners, working as a business consultant.  He ended his career as the Director of Manufacturing and School to Work Program Coordinator for The Threshold Incorporated of West Bend, where he felt he did some of his most important work.  He worked tirelessly his entire life but above all else, his grandchildren and family were his greatest joy.

Those Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory include two children, Katie (Bee) Xiong and Nick (Jess) Gumm; four grandchildren, Jada, Saraya, Arlo, and Everson; his mother, Hedwig Gumm; a brother, Ron (Nancy) Gumm; former wife Mary; other relatives and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Gumm.

In honor of Jim’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held.

In memory of Jim, donations may be made to The Threshold Incorporated or The National Alliance for Mental Illness.

The Myrhum Patten Miller and Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Jim’s arrangements. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.myrhum-patten.com.
