Franklyn W. Fischer

Franklyn W. Fischer, 99, of Mayville, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018, at the Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center in Waupun.

Franklyn was born on April 14, 1919, the son of the late Frank and Freida (nee Luehring) Fischer. On October 24, 1944, he was united in marriage to Helen Serwe. Helen preceded Franklyn in death on January 26, 2002. Franklyn was a World War II veteran and served in the Navy on the U.S.S. New Kent until his discharge in 1945. He enjoyed duck hunting, Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and the Wisconsin Badgers. He also enjoyed attending Stephanie and Dylan’s sporting events. Franklyn spent many hours on Fischer’s Land making it enjoyable for his entire family and many friends.

Those Franklyn leaves behind to cherish his memory include nine children, JoAnn (Jim) Fischer of Silver City, New Mexico, Lynn Fischer of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Kay Coddens of Waupun, Mary Ann (Walt) Woernle of Tampa Bay, Florida, Edward Fischer of Mayville, Robert Fischer of Dixon, New Mexico, Thomas (Sharon) Fischer of Mayville, Steven (Diane) Fischer of Waupun, and John (Renee Bonack) Fischer of Mayville; four grandchildren, Justin Yoder, Raina Nelson, Stephanie Fischer, and Dylan Fischer; other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife, Helen, and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard and his wife Kathy; a brother, Victor Fischer and two sisters, Gladys (Tony) Krutke and Eveyln (Steve) Deanovich.

Franklyn’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

A memorial service for Franklyn will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 15 S. Walnut Street, in Mayville. Private family burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mayville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Rock River Church in Theresa is appreciated.
