Edward G. "Porky" Bergmann Obituary

Edward G. “Porky” Bergmann, 81, of Big Cedar Lake, former resident of Slinger, passed away on, Sunday, July 28, 2019, at Froedtert Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, surrounded by his loving family.

Porky was born on April 20, 1938, in West Bend, the son of the late Edward and Lydia (nee Borgmann) Bergmann. On September 9, 1960, he was united in marriage to Karin Delcore at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Slinger. Karin preceded Porky in death on October 23, 2018.

Together, Porky and Karin worked to build their business, Bergmann Appliance & T.V. in Slinger, Wisconsin. They owned and resided there for over 40 years before happily retiring to their lake cottage on Big Cedar Lake in 2012.

Porky enjoyed taking care of his “swamp”, watching the birds, feeding the deer – and hunting them (if the DNR is reading this it was not over the bait pile). He enjoyed fishing, camping, and boating to his favorite restaurant, OCI, to get his 7 and 7’s, driving his tractor, and his favorite pastime was bullshitting. When Porky was able to, he enjoyed driving his Harley.

Those Porky leaves behind to cherish his memory include six children, Edward (Elizabeth) Bergmann of Slinger, Patti (David) Krueger of Richfield, Michael (fiancé, Donna) Bergmann of Lomira, Lisa Free of West Bend, Thomas (Dawn) Bergmann of West Bend, and Amy (Damon) Kuritz of West Bend; five grandchildren, Cory (Stephanie) Bergmann, Jordan (Jesi) Bergmann, Alec (Kendra) Bergmann, Kendra Bergmann, and Taylor Bergmann (boyfriend Brad Fink); two great-grandchildren, Kyra Bergmann and Makenna Bergmann; a brother-in-law, Henry (Nancy) Delcore; a sister-in-law, Carol Delcore; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Porky was preceded in death by a step-brother, Raymond (Marge) Klemp; three sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Fred) Hafeman, Shirley Fischer, and Cheryl (Dale) Adams; two brothers-in-law, Ronnie (Mary Ellen) Delcore and Wayne Delcore; and his parents-in-law, Clarence and Gladys Delcore.

A memorial service for Porky will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 799 St. Paul Drive, in Slinger with Pastor George Enderle officiating.

Porky’s family will greet relatives and friends at church on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hunt of a Lifetime – Wisconsin are appreciated.
