Welcome to the memorial page for

Carolyn Anne (Hass) Emmer

February 12, 1942 ~ June 8, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Carolyn Anne (nee Hass) Emmer, 75, was born into eternal life on Thursday, June 8, 2017.

Carol was born in Milwaukee, WI, on February 12, 1942, the daughter of (the late) Louis and Adeline (nee Blechinger) Hass.

She married the love of her life, Harold (Chuck) Emmer, in Milwaukee, WI on September 2, 1961, and was the daughter-in-law of (the late) Aloys and Viola (nee Arnold) Emmer. Carol was the loving mother of daughters, Jeannette (David) Schwarz of Slinger, WI, and Laura Cleminson of York, ME; proud grandmother, of Evan (Michelle), Jaclyn, and Steven Schwarz and Regan Cleminson, and a devoted great-grandmother, of Maya and Gordon Schwarz.

In addition to her husband of fifty-five years, daughters, and grandchildren, Carol is survived by her brothers, Robert (Marjorie) Hass of Phoenix, AZ, and David (Judith) Hass of Chatfield, MN; sisters-in-law, Marion Lackas of Hartford, WI, and Arleen Tennessen Setser of Georgetown, TX. Further survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Her devotion to family was equally matched by her devotion to God. Carol was very proud of answering to the call of being an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion for the Sick and Homebound for the St. Frances Cabrini Church in West Bend, WI.

Carol was a wonderful artist who put her creativity into everything she did. With great love, she shared her imagination in many ways; ranging from the beautiful and delicious meals she prepared, to the table, which she took great pleasure in setting for family and friends. We all knew this was the reason why she cooked — so she could collect elegant place-settings and prepare a stunning table. Other creative gifts included her portraits she sketched over the decades, to her award winning cross-stitch designs, to curating a beautiful and welcoming home, of which, it was no secret, you could eat off of her floors.

She was a beacon of light to those that knew her and to strangers she met along the way. A dedicated wife and an inspiration to her children and grandchildren, she lived a life of joy and gratitude. Her love she gave unconditionally, her loyalty awe inspiring. Her smile was given freely and her laughter infectious. Animals adored her. She was passionate about family and believed everyone has a story worth telling. And yes, we will miss ALL of her stories, even the ones we’ve heard a thousand times.

A Memorial Mass for Carol will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 200 E. Washington St., in Slinger with Fr. Rick Stoffel officiating.

The Emmer family will greet relatives and friends at the church Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of Mass.
