Albert L. "Rip" Ripley Obituary

Albert L. Ripley (aka Rip), 85, of the town of Scott, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 26, 2019.

Rip was born on May 20, 1934, in West Allis, son of the late Albert Sr. and Louise (nee Herbst) Ripley. On November 1, 1959, Rip was united in marriage with Jean Mae Reul in Fillmore.

Rip was a hard-working man with many passions and a zest for life. A true outdoorsman at heart, Rip loved to spend time at “Ripley’s Resort,” his home away from home on the Wolf River. Many hours were spent here hunting, fishing, and enjoying nature with his best friends and loved ones. Along with his passion for the wilderness, Rip was also an incredible craftsman. He could spend hours in the workshop, building and creating, putting immense care into everything he touched. However, nothing gave Rip more joy than spending time with his family and friends. A kind man with an infectious spirit, not to mention the most contagious laugh, Rip never ceased to make his loved ones smile. His compassion for others made him a spectacular father, a wonderful husband, and an unforgettable friend.

Those Rip leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Jean; three children, Keith (Deborah) Ripley of Milwaukee, Kim Ripley (Steve) of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and Kris Conell of Wauwatosa; two grandchildren, Thomas Ripley and Alyssa Conell; other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Rip was preceded in death by his sister.

A memorial service for Rip will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2019, at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 215 Forest Avenue, in Kewaskum.
