Patrick G. Doherty

   Patrick G. Doherty, 93, of Kewaskum, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Cedar Lake Health and Rehab Center in the town of West Bend.
   He was born on December 29, 1921, in the town of Mitchell, the son of the late William and Ella (Schlief) Doherty, and on October 16, 1948 he was united in marriage to Marjorie Leifer at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Batavia.
   Patrick proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII.  He was a lifelong member of the American Legion, including 38 years at the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post #384 in Kewaskum.  Patrick enjoyed tinkering at home and making homemade wine.  He also liked spending time with his grandchildren and shooting pool.  In his retirement, Patrick volunteered his time driving bus for special needs children in West Bend.
   Those Patrick leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 66 years, Marjorie; four children, Bonnie (Ron) Theusch of Kewaskum, Michael (Deb) Doherty of Kewaskum, Francene (Gary) Backhaus of West Bend and Jennifer (Randy) Koepke of Kewaskum; 11 grandchildren, Curtiss (Kim) Ketter of Lomira, Kevin (Stacey) Ketter of Green Bay, Melissa (Matt) Dez Warte of Plymouth, Jacob Theusch of Kewaskum, Nicole (Scott) Heller of West Bend, Damien (fiancé Angela) Doherty of Kewaskum, Austin (special friend Lindsay Schedler) Doherty of Milwaukee, Leigh (Gary) Shuford of Davidson, North Carolina, Keith (fiancé Jennifer) Backhaus of Kewaskum, Geoff Backhaus of French Gulch, California and Ryan (Ashley) Koepke of Pewaukee; 12 great-grandchildren; seven sisters-in-law, Adeline Doherty, Corinne Doherty, June Pick and Donna (Jay) Pfrang all of Plymouth, Betty Klein of Crivitz, Lucy (Ray) Miske of the town of Scott and Linda (Bruce) Grassman of Shawano; a brother-in-law, Donald Leifer of Plymouth; special neighbors and friends Emil (Sandi) Radeztsky of Kewaskum, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
   In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by five brothers; Ed (Evelyn) Doherty, Matt (Shirley) Doherty, Bill Doherty, Mike (Harriet) Doherty, Dave Doherty; four sisters, Marie (Bill) Warga, Katherine (Al) Wehmeyer, Margret (Leslie) Falk, Helen (Arlyn) Guenther and two brothers-in-law, Warren Klein and Arnold Pick.
   Military honors for Patrick will be held 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post #384 in Kewaskum.
   Patrick's family will greet relatives and friends at the American Legion on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of military honors.
   In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Veteran's Association are appreciated.
   The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at both Cedar Hospice and Cedar Lake Health and Rehab in West bend and the staff at St. Josephs Hospital in the town of Polk for their excellent care of Patrick
