Jonathan David "Jon" Spencer Obituary

Jonathan David “Jon” Spencer, age 62, of West Bend, received his purple wings on January 24, 2020. Jon was born on October 14, 1957, in Evanston, Illinois to Francis and Phyllis Spencer.

As a young boy the family moved to Wauwatosa, WI where he later attended Wauwatosa East High School. During those years he was a very accomplished swimmer competing at the Olympic level. He married Tracy (nee Porter-Bridge) on August 29, 1998 in Evergreen, CO.  The family returned to Wisconsin in 2003 where Jon began working for Lakeside International Trucks.  He finished his career in 2019 as their Parts Sales Manager.

Jon was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in September 2017.  He was a 28 month survivor who dedicated his time to bringing awareness and support to the Pancreatic Action Network (PanCan).  Through his dedication he became the Sponsorship and Flagship Chair for the Milwaukee Affiliation.  Jon fought until the very end with grace and dignity that is why he is a true “Hero” to all of us.

Jon loved spending time playing golf, camping, fishing, hunting, traveling, tasting AWESOME food and cheering on his Green Bay Packers.  Most importantly he loved spending time with his wife, his kids, family and friends.

Those Jon leaves behind to cherish his memory and the occasional captain and diet and his beloved Packers include the love of his life, his wife, Tracy (nee Porter-Bridge), his children, Jonathan Bridge (Lindsay), Matthew Bridge (Hana), Stephen Bridge, Adam Spencer (Kris), Amy Rauber (Chad), Jennifer Sorenson (Nicholas); and 9 grandchildren.

Jon is further survived by his mother, Phyllis; two sisters, Betsy Belongia (Jeff) and Barbara Schinderle (Denis); numerous nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and friends.

Jon is preceded in death by his father Francis and his sister, Jane.

A funeral service for Jon will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, January 31, 2020 at Terrace 167, 3210 Highway 167 in Richfield, WI. The family invites you to stay after the services and continue to celebrate Jon’s life from 5-8pm and encourages you to wear your Best Green Bay Packer gear and/or flip-flops in honor of Jon.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network/PurpleStride-JTWarriors is appreciated. (Attn: Jennifer Rebollo, 1500 Rosecrans Avenue - Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266)
