Raymond D. “Lefty” McWilliams, age 65, of West Bend, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at The Kathy Hospice in West Bend.
Lefty was born on May 15, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Raymond and Ida (nee Vaughan) McWilliams.
He worked at Lynn’s Waste as a forklift driver and also delivered the West Bend Newspaper, no matter what the weather was. He tried never to leave his customers down. He delivered the news up to the time he found out he had cancer. He tried after his diagnosis, but the cold was too hard on his lungs. Anyone who knew Lefty knew he was a hard worker. Lefty liked to go to the casino, shake dice, have a few beers and talk with people.
Lefty is survived by his three daughters, Tara, Sarah, and Lorina; grandchildren; stepchildren, Robbie, Shelly, Kelly, and Tracy; step grandchildren; four brothers, Royce, Berl, James, and Albert (Linda) McWilliams; good friends, Mary, Debbie (who he always called Mom), Jim, Tommy, Doug and Kerri, who were very special people to him; “step-mom”, Nancy; and other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to all his doctors and to Kathy Hospice who gave him wonderful care.
A funeral service in remembrance of Lefty will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 3:30 pm at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, (1315 W. Washington St.) West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 12:30 until the time of service. Lunch and get together following the service will be at the VFW Hall 1393 (260 Sand Dr.), West Bend.
