So sad to read in the Ozaukee Press of Ray's passing. My friend and neighbor at the Springhill Apartments in Fredonia. (For awhile I lived across the street from Jim and Barb) Have been listening to the CD he gave me of one of his "Big Band" broadcasts. The true "velvet voice". He was a regular at the Village Market grocery store, stopping in on his way to see Liz. I didn't see him too much after he moved to Port Washington. He will be missed by many.

I wasn't surprised to read of the wonderful life that Rayford had. It's a true testament of a father's love and guidance in the children he loved and raised. My late husband and I have known his son Butch and wife Karen for many years. Have shared lots of fun memories of camping with their family and have seen firsthand how well he raised Butch and in turn Butch raised his own sons. Though a dear father is now gone, he is forever in all of your thoughts, memories and prayers. God bless each of you.

On behalf of myself (and Peter would want to be included as well) we send our prayers and condolences. He raised a wonderful and caring son in Butch, who in turn chose a fabulous and sweet wife, Karen who together raised 3 awesome sons. It's amazing to see how those genetic characteristics carry forward from father, to son, to grandchildren.....
Losing a parent is never easy, but with prayer and support and lots of awesome memories, time heals the sadness and loss.
Our prayers to all of you.
