Patricia Tews Obituary

Patricia Alice Tews (nee Watson) died peacefully January 26, 2018 after a long battle with dementia.  She was the daughter of Doris Andreiko and John Watson.  Patsy, as everyone called her, grew up in Superior, Wisconsin and moved to Milwaukee in 1957 where she worked as an X Ray Technician at Courtland Medical Center.  She married Robert Tews and raised 3 children.  Patsy worked as an Aide in the Allenton School District, and poured her heart into tutoring her students.

Patsy will be remembered for her sparkling personality, her kindness, and zest for life.  She charmed everyone with the power of her smile.  Her most abiding passions were her family and friends.  She was a dedicated member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and Cedar Lake Yacht Club.  The Yacht Club was her happy place and she loved to spend time there greeting people and volunteering for sailing events and regattas.  One of her proudest moments was being honored with the Public Service Award.  Patsy also played tennis at Pleasant Valley Tennis Club and was proud when her team made it to State.

Survivors include her three children, Sandy Ferron (Bill Stroud), Cindy Ziegler-Fritz (Tom Fritz) and Jim Tews (Chris), her grandchildren, Kelly Ferron, Nikki Hoffman (Alex), Missy Ziegler, Cody Ziegler, Molly Ziegler, Elizabeth Tews, Jamie Fritz and Jordan Fritz.  She is further survived by her two half brothers, Bill Pink (Denise) and Joe Watson.  Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and son in law Tim Ziegler.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Gary Herdrich, Nancy Niebauer, and the Serenity Villa staff for their wonderful care.   We would also like to thank Sue Darrow, Sandy Evans and Ann Schoenke for their extraordinary kindness and friendship during these last 7.5 years.

A private ceremony will be held with the family at a later date.  Contributions may be made to The Cedar Lake Yacht Club, which will go toward a Memorial in honor of her name, or to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Slinger Wisconsin.

The Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Patricia’s arrangements. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.myrhum-patten.com.
