Marvin A. "Perky" Perkins

Marvin A. “Perky” Perkins, 79, of Kewaskum, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, with his wife at his side, at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Marvin was born on December 22, 1937, in Kewaskum, the son of the late Dorwin and Elizabeth (Muckerheide) Perkins. On February 10, 2011, he married the love of his life, Susan Jalas in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Marvin loved spending time with family and friends. For many years he enjoyed golfing, skiing the “Birke”, and teaching kids how to ski up at Sunburst. He volunteered at Irish Fest, loved his motorcycle, and always lived life with a smile on his face. During his employment with Millis Trucking, he achieved one million miles of safe driving. Perky proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Those Marvin leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Susan; two children, Greg (Tammy) Perkins of West Bend and Denise (Mike) Luedcke of Hartford; three siblings, Marilyn Schommer, Viola Lawrenz, and Patricia Kirschling; two step-children, Benjamin Johnson of Milwaukee and Rachel Johnson of Appleton; his grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by a brother, Harold “Buddy” (Eileen) Perkins; two brothers-in-law, Marvin Schommer and Jake Lawrenz.

An open house Celebration of Life for Marvin will be held at Hon-E-Kor, 1141 Riverview Drive, in Kewaskum, on Sunday, May 7, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Foundation is appreciated.
