Marilyn H. Sullivan, 91, of West Bend, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside on Sunday, January 1st, 2017.

She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to the late Ed and Helen Murphy, becoming the third of their four children.  Marilyn’s family settled in Chippewa Falls and upon graduation from high school she worked in Chicago for the Federal Government.

Marilyn married Thomas Sullivan on June 15th, 1946, moving shortly thereafter to Wauwatosa.  It was in Wauwatosa where she and Tom became proud parents to seven children; Tim (Faith), Todd (Jackie, Terry (Julie), Ted (Caryn), Therese (Ron), Toni (Ray) Kelly and Tom (Cheryl).  Marilyn and Tom eventually settled in West Bend in 1960.   Tom preceded her in death on November 11, 2013.

Those Marilyn leaves behind to cherish her memory include six children; 18 grandchildren, Marnie (Pat) Hammler, Matthew (Kristen) Sullivan, Mark (Marit) Sullivan, Holly Sullivan, T.J. Sullivan, Terry Sullivan, Caitlin (Pete) Johnson, Daniel (Nicole) Sullivan, Jack Sullivan, Julia Sullivan, Benjamin Piekarz, Ted Piekarz, Ian Johnson, Abigail (Andrew) Lange, Alexander Johnson, Connor Sullivan, Cameron Sullivan and Caden Sullivan; 11 great-grandchildren, Riley and Codey Stereunagel, Paul, Andrew, Thomas and C.J. Sullivan, Will and Grace Sullivan, Teddy Sullivan, and Harper and Hazel Sullivan; a brother, James (Karen) Murphy, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by a son, Ted and two brothers, Paul (Marge) Murphy and John (Dorothy) Murphy.

A private family service will be held for Marilyn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are greatly appreciated to either Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (alzfdn.org) or Fraser House (fraser.org), an Autism service provider.   Memorials may also be sent to Myrhum Patten Funeral Home 1315 W. Washington St. West Bend, WI 53095 and will be passed onto the family.
