LeRoy “Ike” Melius, 90, of West Bend, died on May 14, 2016 at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.
Ike was born on September 24, 1925 to the late Milton and Linda (nee Gerhardt) Melius.
After graduating from Random Lake High School, Ike joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. His next stop led to Lakeland College where he found his niche in biology, which led to a teaching career of 35 years both abroad and predominantly in Illinois.
Ike was well traveled and had a deep love for nature, fishing, hunting, golfing, and all sports, sharing many friendships.
Ike is survived by his brother, Miles “ The Mouse” Melius and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Helen Maaske, Carol Aspen, and Mavis Lochen.
Ike received extraordinary loving care from the staff at the Samaritan Health Center and Allay Hospice, we’re so grateful.
Upon his request, Ike will be cremated and there will be no service.
