I am writing from Charleston, SC remembering our nine years in West Bend, Wisconsin. My husband, Cal Bruins worked with Jim. We because friends through our teacher friends. It was a special time in our lives. It has been a long time, but I think it was Beth who was our favorite baby sitter. We enjoyed a reunion with Avis and Him in Three Lakes after we retired from Education in Arizona.

My you have comfort in knowing we were blessed by Jim's gentle spirit and loving ways....Sincerely, Bonnie

David and are are so sad to hear the news about Jim's passing. He was such a sweet guy and a wonderful neighbor in Three Lakes. We will miss him and his cheerfulness and love of the northwoods. He was a talented man and remodeled a small cabin next door to us that he enjoyed with his family and later we purchased for our family members to use. Sending prayers and hugs to Avis and family members!

My deepest sympathy to you Avis, your Kids, and Grandkids on the lost of our Jim. I worked with him from 1974 until his retirement and had the utmost respect for all he gave to so many of us - his students and their families, co-workers and his beloved family. Jim ALWAYS went the extra mile and showed how much he valued his many relationships He generously shared his time, talents and treasures. I respected him deeply. Avis - you two were such a cute couple together and so fun to be with.

Jim set the bar high and was loved in turn by so many. He will be missed deeply!!!

Love and respect always, Rose and Harry Becker

To Mark & family, we're so sorry to hear about the death of your dad. Nancy Ladd informed me yesterday. I'm sure he's up in heaven trading fish stories with Jim Scheid. It was nice to see some of you last year @ Jims birthday party. We will keep you all in our prayers. Cathy Smith( Nancy & Johns aunt)

My condolences to the family on Jim's passing. He was a kind, gentle, soft-spoken soul who cared about all those he met. There is a hole in humanity, he is missed. I will always remember him wood turning and fishing.

Mark and family, we were saddened to hear of your dad's being taken to glory. I have fond memories of growing up right next door to your family in West Bend and loved seeing what your folks did with the property out east. Your dad's strong Christian faith means we have a certainty of seeing him again in heaven some day and for that we rejoice! He's up there now bagging that record book buck for sure! With love, Rick and Sharon

I'd like to express My heartfelt condolences to the family . He was such a special man in so many ways and our lives were all enhanced because of our interactions with him. It has been many years since Mr. W and I have spoken (teen yrs and early 20's) but he always treated me with sincere respect and was genuinely excited to converse about our lives, fishing , the outdoors and family.
He so loved his wife and family!
God bless ,
J
