Fred L Micheels

Fred L. Micheels, 80, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Lawlis Family Hospice. Fred was born on January 31, 1937 in Milwaukee, the son of the late Clyde and Mildred Fairman. Fred proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany, Vietnam, Thailand, Alaska, and Korea. He retired in 1982 and went on to serve in the Civil Service until 1994. He enjoyed golfing and was a social butterfly; those who met him would never forget him.

Those Fred leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Janice; children, Richard (Angi) Micheels of Carmel, IN., Denise (Travis) Morris of Kokomo, IN., Alan (Trisha) Micheels of Noblesville, IN., Paula (Kevin) Lucius of Madison, WI., and Kristen (Mike) Mueller of Allenton, WI; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Margene Willing and Phyllis McDowell; and brothers, Bill Micheels, Clifford Micheels, and Richard (Susan) Micheels. Fred is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marsha Gayle; brothers, Jack and Frank Micheels; and brothers-in-law, Ray Willing and Robert McDowell.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Fred’s name are appreciated to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Honor Flight.
