Dorothy Y. (Fultz) Hecky

Dorothy Y. Hecky, 95, of West Bend, Cold Spring, KY, and Silver Lake, OH, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. She was born on May 25, 1922 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of the late William and Leila Fultz. She married the love of her life, Herman Hecky on July 25, 1942 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  Among many occupations, she worked as the Assistant Clerk Treasurer of Silver Lake Village. She was a devoted church woman who used every chance to demonstrate her Christian faith. She was a leader in making angel pins for her church to help reduce the church mortgage debt. Dorothy and Herman were Church Camp Directors for many years at Camp Templed Hills in Belleville, OH. Dorothy always enjoyed flower arranging, going to flower shows and was actively involved in the Cuyahoga Falls Garden Club.

Those Dorothy leaves behind to cherish her memory include her children, Steven (Debbie) Hecky of Menomonee Falls and Christine (Rick) Saunders of Oakland, TN; six grandchildren, Catherine (Eric) Richardson, Melissa (Brian) Koepke, Anne (Daniel) Waxler, Brook (Erin) Saunders, Jessica Fitzsimmons, and Matthew (Katie) Saunders; and 13 precious great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; sister, Betty (Harold) Farris; and two brothers, David (Norma) Fultz and Bill (Pat) Fultz.

A memorial service in remembrance of Dorothy will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 501 Walnut Street West Bend, WI. 53095. Dorothy’s family will greet friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. A second service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, 8831 Crooked Run Rd SW, Sugarcreek, OH 44681. Burial will immediately follow at Zion Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Wisconsin Conference U.C.C. Camp Program and the Ohio Conference U.C.C. Camp Program.

Dorothy’s family would like to thank the staff of Cedar Bay East Community, the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital, and the staff of the Kathy Hospice for their compassionate care and kindness.
