Bernice R. (Zubke) GloedeJuly 24, 1936 ~ June 17, 2017 (age 80)
Bernice R. Gloede (nee Zubke), 80, of West Bend, was surrounded by family when called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee.
She was born on July 24, 1936 to the late Albert and Rose (Kulesa) Zubke in Hawkins, WI. On July 11, 1954, she was united in marriage to Donald Gloede in Milwaukee. Bernice’s family always came first and her number one priority was to care for them. She was very involved in her church volunteering in a variety of ways. She was also active in the quilting club. Bernice liked knitting, reading, playing cards, and entertaining guests at their lake home on Big Cedar Lake – where everyone was always welcome. She enjoyed making meals for others, hiking, and was an avid traveler. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Those Bernice leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Don Gloede; two children, Scott (Deb) Gloede of Grafton and Sue (Rick) Swan of Brookfield; four grandchildren, Heather (Patrick) Sheehan, Dre (David) Latzl, Tanner Swan, and Morgan Swan; six great grandchildren, Owen, Luke, and Olive Sheehan, and Paige, Tess, and Liam Latzl; a sister, Ruth Tobian; a brother, Robert Zubke; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two sisters, Audrey Reimer and Dorothy Zubke.
A memorial service in remembrance of Bernice will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 4860 Arthur Rd., Slinger
