Vincent G. “Butch” Kircher, age 75, of the town of Kewaskum passed away peacefully following a short battle with cancer on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.
Butch was born on July 16, 1936 in the village of Barton to the late John and Laura (nee Hart) Kircher. He attended St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Parish School and West Bend High School before serving in the United States Navy from 1954 until 1958. While in the Navy, Butch toured the world on various ships including his favorite ship the USS Whetstone.
On August 29, 1959 Butch was united in marriage to the love of his life, Kathleen Renk. Shortly after their marriage, Butch began working for Mercury Marine where he was employed for 38 years. Butch enjoyed sports and coached little league for Schoebers Camera Store for 10 years while his boys were growing up. He loved being outdoors and especially loved hunting and fishing.
Butch is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen; his three sons, Randy (Sheila) Kircher of Campbellsport, Keith (Stacy Calkins) Kircher of the town of Kewaskum, and Todd Kircher of the town of Kewaskum; three grandchildren, Brandon Kircher of Tucson, AZ, Shaun Kircher of Kewaskum, and Rachel Kircher of Campbellsport; great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet Petri of West Bend; a brother, Donald (Joyce) Kircher of Laona; three brothers-in-law, Carlos Meilinger of Waupaca, Gerald (Frances) Renk of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kenneth Renk of West Bend; and many other nieces, nephew, relatives, and friends. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, John and Laura Kircher; his parents-in-law, Arthur and Louise Renk; two sisters, Carol Fuller and Beverly Meilinger; his brother-in-law Gary Fuller; and two nephews, Russell “Rocko” Petri and Patrick “PJ” Meilinger.
In honor of Butch’s wishes a private family service will be held at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend.
